AZL 64423 Freedom Train, Spirit of 1776 ALCO PA1 #1776

Just in time for the 4th of July, the Freedom Train Alco PA1! The Freedom Train ran between 1947 and 1949 touring the United States. The trains concept was to help reeducate and share the principals that the United States was founded on. The concept came from President Truman who was a fan of the railroads.

I'm not going to say this is the prettiest paint scheme ever to grace a PA1, but it is a unique one! Call me crazy, but I can see this being a collectible in short order. And ok, I may be crazy but I think I'm right on this one. You can read about the prototype here:

The AZL ALCO PAs feature prototype specific details, 7mm can motor, dual flywheels, directional controlled LED lighting, six-axle trucks with blind middle axle (no flange), blackened metal wheels, traction tires, optional snow plow, optional front coupler cover and are DCC ready. Note, the optional plow and coupler cover are located under the box insert.
